The name says it all ;D About two years ago RichR29 (Not sure how many here remember him he was a great guy) He gave me a drawing of what he thought could work out as a great mod for sf. Basicly its like a road map in space. I forgot all about it so now im thinking of modding it. There is a starting line and a finish line. You have to dodge weapons fire (ai sb for example) or the sun. Maybe include combat in it while racing? Im thinking of trying to do this and Im asking if anyone else in sf would be interested in playing this. If enough are interested I will work on it whenever I can and hope that I can actualy get it right If you have any suggestions please post them here.

Colony Racer: Colony Racer is a simple relay race in Stellar Frontier. Opponents must drag a colony across a designated map, using unfitted Scouts. At designated stops the players must release their colony and pass it off to a waiting team mate, who in turn must tractor the colony and tow it on to the next desination. The goal of the race is to populate a designated planet before your opponent does. Here is a simple scenario. Two Terran players and two Drengin players meet at the Stellar Frontier cafe near Uranus. An official must be present to make sure all ships are unrefitted at the start of the race. Powerups obtained during the race are permitted. All players will be required to resync (by pressing F9) before the start of the race. The Game Official will start off the race by firing a cannon shot. The two players who will begin the race will be allowed to q-drive to their respective home planets (Earth and Mars) to obtain a 1 billion population colony by orbiting the planet and pressing J until the colony's population is at 1 billion. With the colony attached to the player's ship he or she must race back to the Stellar Frontier Cafe to pass it off to their waiting team mate. Your team mate is not allowed to leave the box of the cafe to latch onto the colony so the first player must drop his or her colony off inside the safety zone. The colony must be at 1 billion before passing it off to your team mate. If it has been damaged the player must go back to his or her home planet and re-populate it before handing it off to the next player. The second set of players willl race to the second Safety Zone above Saturns moons, where their first team mate or a third team mate will be waiting. The next set of racers will proceed back to the Internet Cafe near Uranus. From there the final players will drag their colonies to Triton and populate it. Game Rules: * All planets except Earth and Mars must be Arcean (The Game Official's Race) * Only scout ships are allowed * If a player is killed during the race, he must respawn and go back to pick up his colony (warping back to the colony is allowed. * Shooting your opponent or getting AI ships to attack your opponent is allowed. * If a colony is destroyed the player must retrieve another one and continue on to his or her destination. * A damaged colony must not be abandoned, it must be repopulated before handing it off. * No players will be allowed to use starbases * Colonies MUST be at 1 billion before handing them to team mates. *Players may take any path to reach their destination. *Players may orbit their home planet during a race to resupply their ship.

Heh thats one senerio Ive started on it but ive already gotton rid of all planets in the system. Im pretty much making a complete new sol system. There is a planet called start and a planet called finish. The one I have so far is short but maybe later in the future if its real popular maybe a larger one can be made. You race around the sol system dodging weapons fire from sb ai and colonys plus suns. You will see the track on your radar. All you do is just follow the planets toward the finish. And im sure some will cheat and just go strait toward the finish but you will be able to see that easily. If you get killed while in the race you go back to start. ;D I might remove qdrive so that way that wont be an issue. I think the hardest part will be trying to add the ai sb to the right spot. Will have to see.

I used to have "THE RACE (Alliance)" server. I'm not going to list off how it worked but it did. It was a race. 4 planets 4 moons. Race to win gets 1 moon per planet. And Go!

I have it close to finished I just need to do two more things.
Add ai in the middle of the race to act as an attacker to try slowing you down.
And add suns to be part of dodging. I would like to add a black hole but I forgot how to do that. Does anyone know?

A black hole no. But if you were to have say a 1 pixel image and make that into a sun then give that sun waaay more intensity then it should have then that should work right?

Oh I forgot to post that the mod is done it just needs to be hosted now. there is a starting planet and you just follow the asteriods all the way to the finish line. There are some colonys and suns along the way but you could just dodge them.

The mod is finished. Its a basic space track with a couple of suns along the way you have to dodge. I just need someone to host it so if you want to Burton1 I can e-mail it to you. ;D

Did this mod ever work out? I remember talking to My_Name about this quite some time ago. If it worked I think it would be a lot of fun, and I'd really like to try it out.

Yeah, it still works. I have the mod, but something happend to it, and the ships look like the old cannons and it crashes. Gotta fix it.
