Right i'm making a new mod. The idea is a fleet mod with 9 races, Not even sure this is possible but gonna try anyway, with one planet and no starbases, no debris and standardised ships. LEVEL PLAYING FIELD
RACE PLANET
SIN Tovec OF DARTHAN HOPE STAKER PoSH CRITCALEDGE TRIBE HAVIK ZF BARSONNIAN AF MYSTICSPIRIT ACE UNKNOWN ! NONE NOOB !
The idea being to win you must own 2 planets to win (ie defeat another fleet)
one star, 9 planets in the same orbit with the same stats and population.
I am completely open to ideas, if my information on fleets is wrong let me know. If you want me to recognise albert's ownership of ace i will put him in.
But don't wait too long this will take less than a week to do.
Since i'm online most of the time i will run it as often as i can, and we'll see if we cant actually get some of you to come online a play a little...............no isp is not an excuse You can't all be so bored with sf that you wont play it occassionally !!!

Well just a couple of things. For the names to work they have to be one word OFDARTHAN no space in between.
Also you say you hold 2 planets you win? Well then I suggest that you don't let the planets be conquerable except by the race you want - Ie SIN can reconquer SIN but ZF can't. It sounds like fun though. If you can get the race coding up and running. I remember trying to do it a few times and its a pain in the ass from what I remember.
lol I can remember one of my mods I got so fed up with the races that I completely started from a blank note pad and worked my way up so that I could get around the special coding for Terrans and Pirates.
If you can get it running I'll play it. I have some suggestions but I'm not sure if they'll fit. I'll help you with the coding any weekend that I'm home.
I also wouldn't plan on AF. Also the leader of ACE at the moment is Tiger150.

there is no problem with the space sorry it's not very clear. I'll name the race after the fleet and their single planet after the fleet leader. Sorry if this offends teams with multiple leaders but i have to pick one only or make more planets per race. The planets wont be blockadable at all, that would make it too easy.. I don't want to use any of the regular ships. But i already have one called the darkstar. (pwr 6 sh 6 eng 4 bst 3 laser 2 and 5 x plasmatorp/ 10,000 vol) this ship is supposed to fill the masive void between dread and starbase. Not sure if i should have anymore. Because the general idea is a level playing field with kills based purely on the skill of the player not rank. All ideas welcome, some of you guys have been doing this longer than me and know what works and what doesn't !!!

Well one of those fleets you might be offending is SIN.
The ships sounds very strong. It doesn't really seem like it will be a good judge of ability instead of who can get a shot off first.
Also anyone without Stellar Aces will not be able to benefit from the L2 being the major gun?
Also you can't make planets unconquerable unless they can't be taken over at all (ref: Neptune) or that they are race specific (ref: Mars)
Sounds like you know what you want though. If you do have more then 1 class of ship then there should be some noticable difference. Like if you have 2 ships make 1 big and slow and 1 fast and small. If 3 then 1 hard to kill, 1 hard to hit, 1 shoots fast or strong.
If no SBs then make the ships how they should be and remove any modules you aren't using then you don't have to worry about the debris. I'm not sure how you would get rid of debris entirely.

Right my fleet mod is now operational......partially.
I have managed to design a mod with EIGHT races..
OF,SIN,ACE,PoSH,RUSH,ZF,TRIBE and Guest.
Each race has a main planet of 3.3 billion and three moons orbiting (basically luna copied thrice including it's stats....250M) The main planet is an S class and the moons are B class. Each race has it's own starbase and 4 AI's at the start of the game. Using the PLANET G 50 line in the code i have made the planets orbit the sun. Object of the game being to capture 8 planets or moons (each race starting with 4 (50%)) There are 6 different ships taken from the subspace mod (just wanted something different !)
They are ASPRIN (SH3,PW3,EN3,BST1,Q1,SEN1,Trac,CLK.........Laser I,Grenade,Plasma) VALIUM(SH4,PW4,EN3,BST2,Q2,SEN2,Trac,CLK..........Laser I,Rapid 1 x 3) XANEX(SH5,PW4,EN4,BST3,Q3,SEN3,Trac,CLK.........Laser II,Grenade,Plasma x 2) VIKADIN (SH5,PW5,EN4,BST3,Q3,SEN3,Trac.........Laser II,Grenade,Plasma x 3) SUPATANKA (SH6,PW5,EN4,BST3,SEN3,Trac,CLK,ARMOUR 3...............Plasma) 9 ports only. DOCK (usual stats)
The planets have just been named after the fleet names as are the moons.
PROBLEM.
It works fine on my computer, no bugs at all. But when i try to run a server on SFDC it loads up then server.exe crashes ?
I have the same issue with my Asteroid warz server ? when i serve Sol for begginners it works fine online ?
I am running SFDC's v1.7rc from the java upgrade. But i've tried it with regular 1.7 and get the same results.............WTF...................someone help me !!!!!!!!!

That sounds like a problem in the server.exe itself - or its command line to get to the nexus - and not the code. Have you tried running a plain Sol system just to test the connection?
If you have and it works for that then make sure the code for online and offline are the same. Different pathways to things like AI could crash it.
As far as I remember if a server works offline it should work online unless there is something wrong with how it is hosted.

It's not a problem with the server.exe cause i can run sol from it. I 've also tried a different version 1.7rc from stardock. when you say different pathways to ai do you mean sf_data_robots.sec ? cause i'm not using that i'm using F_data_robots.sec which is an altered copy of the original ?
The problem is i can host servers they work fine. But not the one's i designed myself.
I can't even run Asteroid warz. Which is completely unaltered from the last time i used it.
The only difference is i'm hosting on SFDC instead of stardock, but this shouldn't be a problem ?

I only had a chance to look at it, and I saw quite a few bugs. I should have some time this weekend to get it fixed for you. Post Exact Specs, and I will start from scratch, should take me an hour or so to be complete.
and in the future pls zip up or rar, cause its now fun downloading like 12 files
