You may have noticed that there is no response from sf.stardock.net nor sf-x.stardock.net. SFDC's nexus at nexus.game-server.cc does work however.
The stardock nexi are down. There is no telling how long. I am sure that some OE would say that it is not comming back up but I have talked to may sources I repect and the common concensus is that it will but there is no telling how long it will take.
For now the only accessable and usable nexus is nexus.game-server.cc Problem is that no one is hosting on that nexus. Some can't and others don't want to. Please if you can put up your server.
If you can't there are several possible reasons. The two most likely are that your server is unable to connect to SFDC nexus or that you are simply not able to host a server because of connection problems. (Usually associated with having a router.)
Recently I have learned how someone can put their server on the SFDC nexus.
Do the following: 1) Go to the SHORTCUT that you use to open server.exe b) Shortcut for server.exe is usually found in the same folder as the frontier.exe (SF) c) Long way around is: C:/Program Files/Drengin.net/Stellar Frontier/binwin/ (NOTE: is not always the path to this folder.) 2) Right click and hit properties 3) Where it says "Target" input the following: "C:/Program Files/Drengin.net/Stellar Frontier/bienwin/server.exe" nexus.game-server.cc (NOTE: Do not delete current target information only add a space then nexus.game-server.cc) 4) Hit OK. Close any currently open servers running on your computer then restart your server from this shortcut only!
Please note that this does not always work and if it does not to please post because there are other ways to connect to the nexus.
Also that if done properly it should keep trying to connect to sf-x.stardock.net. As long as it IS connecting to nexus.game-server.cc it is done properly.
Please note that if you were unable to host before that this is still true now. Also that if you and only you were able to get onto your server before that this is no longer true - NO ONE will be able to get on.

Ok, I did all of this, it says registering with nexus.game-server.cc And then it says registering with sf-x.stardock.net, how do I stop it from registering with sf-x? I'm using nexus.game-server.cc to play the game.

I heard that there resetting the sf.stardock.net nexus. Because of all the cheating. So everyone will be back at zero. So i hope you created an account on nexus.game-server.cc ;D

Well you can transfer accounts but it won't do you much good. They will be RESET! 0 kills 0 deaths 0 score!
Best ide a is to open it on Play Against The Computer to get your stats. Get those transferred to SFDC. They should be saved - UNTIL you log on once on sf.stardock.net.
It sounds cool to me that they reset. Don't really see how that solves the problem but it will give people a better footing.

Resetting the Stardock stats won't do anyone any good. It will hurt honest players who prefer to use Stardock.net, and it will set back the big-time point/kill farmers/cheaters by at most one week. The long-vaunted rank of Flt.Adm., for example, is now not only considered 'small potatoes' for those who even have a rudimentary idea of how to set up servers and point farm (often now done by people with servers that only *they* can get into, and no one else). An old FOA member got from Vice Admiral to Fleet Admiral by gaining upwards of 200,000 points in a few days; a green newbie I won't name here got from Cadet to Fleet Admiral within 2 weeks - and from Admiral to Fleet Admiral in 2 days.
Personally, I got Flt.Adm. like a month and a half after I dedicated myself to getting there (when I was a Commodore), and I only got there through playing LOTS of SF, plenty of hard work, and playing in Skillet's Plain Old Sol - the MOST PUBLIC SERVER out there in those days - as well as enduring plenty of insults, being killed many times while carrying colonies, etc. - and I pretty much devoted my life to getting there in that time so that's why I'm p i ssed when I see these people vaunting up the point and kill ladders in days or hours. Resetting the nexus won't do s h ! t against this, and I recommend that future ranks be based on ideas from Continuum - by basing ranks on the amount of time spent playing the darned game, and setting Q Drive to defunctionalize slowly so that you will get spit out of Q space after being in Q continuously for, say, 20 minutes - this is so people don't Q-park endlessly while AFK and log tons of hours. Without these measures, ranks really mean sh!t these days.

*Exalted*
Tell us how you really feel.
True but I think you are over estimating your average and common point farmer. Ranks don't mean shit and haven't for a long time. Time spent in game doesn't mean shit either. There is a way to see how long a person has actually played but what is the point. No it has to go deeper. A reset means nothing. It will give us a better indicator of who is cheating though. When you see someone raise a few thousand over a week or two it is barely noticable. 100 000 in a day then you question it. Albert I am sad it took you a month and a half to get Flt.Adm. from Comdor. Playing in any server as long as it isn't low scoring should be able to get you there much faster. Time spent in game, score, k/d ratio, total kills, none of these describe a good player. None properly anyway. You have heard killer, die say it before that no one can tell you you are a vet you just know. Well this is the same. No one can tell you you are good you just are.
And before you ask: No Emp.Albert is not a vet!

Ranks don't really matter in SF... or in fact it doesnt matter the time you spend in Continuum... what matters is the skill in the player... In SF you can have a deity... and get defeated by a cadet in a scout with a good set up. And Fleet Hopper... its really sad that you get Flt. Adm. in less than 2 months... well as far as I know... SFDC and SF are two different nexuses... so if you save it in SFDC it will NOT save in SF nexus.

Your point being ? I had my stats on Admiral AlbertW and my stats on Flt.Adm. AlbertWong (both accounts were on the Stardock nexus) saved on the SFDC nexus and combined into Emperor ACE_Albert..... so wtf is your point?
